Sumit

Consultant, Theatre Actor, Endurance Athlete

Sumit is a consultant based in Austin, working with technology clients and a father of two.

Outside of work, he acts in theatre and races endurance events. He completed his first half-Ironman in 2024 and has trained through most weeks of the year since.

The Challenges

He was fit enough to race for hours, but still could not lose the weight. That was the part that confused him. His endurance kept climbing, and his weight never moved.

  • Training hard, nothing changed.

Years of running and cycling, and the same body to show for it.

  • Fit enough to race, still not lean

He finished a half Ironman weighing what he did the day he started

  • Doing more stopped helping

Extra sessions did not shift the weight or the shape.

  • He stopped expecting it to change.

He put it down to his age, and assumed this was as good as it gets.

The Transformation

The answer was not more training. It was different training. It started with an assessment of his body composition and his injury history. The plan written from it was built for his body and the equipment he had.

  • Fit enough for Everest Base Camp

He trekked it only 3 months into the program.

  • 38.6lbs down and has under 15%body fat

Leaner than he had been in his twenties, 6 months into the program

  • Became an Ironman

He finished Ironman this time. Double the distance he could mange before.

  • Started walking the ramp

Modelling was never something he had pictured for himself.
